One board, every word stays

Wordtide 1.0 is open to everyone in any modern browser. There is a single board, endless in every direction. Every word any player lays stays on it, and the next player hooks their own tiles onto it, so the map grows into a shared world of coloured regions, lighthouses that mark the first time anyone has played a word, and hidden treasure squares. There is no sign-up screen: open the link, find a place where your seven tiles fit, and play. Progress can be saved later with a passkey or a five-word recovery code.

Quieter ways to play

  • Daily Seven: the same seven letters for everyone each day (UTC), a par to beat, and a share card made only of coloured squares, so it never gives the word away.
  • Journey: one hundred hand-made solo puzzles across eight islands.
  • Little Tide: a picture-and-sound mode for ages 3 and up with no reading, no timers and no way to fail. It contains no advertising, purchases or analytics.

39 languages, a board for each

Wordtide offers 39 game languages, each with its own board and its own licence-clean dictionary. The interface is available in 42 languages, including right-to-left scripts.

Open to all

The game works with a keyboard alone, describes the board to screen readers, and offers a colour-blind-safe palette, reduced motion and high contrast. Our own audit against WCAG 2.2 level AA concluded that Wordtide partially conforms to the standard, and we publish the remaining gaps at /accessibility. Wordtide installs like an app from the browser, and solo play works offline.

Free, never pay-to-win

Wordtide is free to play and never pay-to-win. There is no paid tier for the seasonal Tide Pass, and words revealed with a hint never count for leagues.
