About Wordtide
Short description
Wordtide is a free word game played on one endless board that the whole world shares. Every word anyone plays stays, and the next player builds on it. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, with no download and no sign-up. It is free to play with no pay-to-win; kids' modes have no ads, purchases or tracking.
Longer description
Wordtide is a massively multiplayer word game on a single infinite board. You start with seven tiles, build words off the ones already there, and watch the map change as other players do the same. Four Tides (teams) colour the territory, weekly leagues of 30 keep competition close and friendly, and events like High Tide (a weekly hour of double XP and a shared world goal) and Tide Week (a territory result for the four Tides) turn the whole board into a shared race. Together, players are also finding every word in the dictionary: the first person to play a word lights a lighthouse on the board.
There is more to do when you want a quieter game. The Daily Seven gives everyone the same seven letters each day, with a par to beat, an archive and calendar to practise past days, and a spoiler-free result to share. Solo Journey is 100 hand-made puzzles across eight islands with rocks, gems, secret words, a tide clock and boss levels. Pure mode (no hints) and a friendly AI rival let you play your way, and you can invite a friend with a link.
Hints are fair. Lanterns give you a free nudge on every move (a square and a letter, never the word) and a few free reveals a day; Pure mode switches hints off. Treasure cells hide on the board every hour for the first player to find, a Tide combo rewards quick moves with extra XP only (never score, so Daily and score boards are unaffected), and daily quests adapt to how you play. The interface comes in 42 languages, including Japanese and Arabic (right to left), and the board plays in 36 languages.
Little Tide is a picture-and-sound mode for ages 3 and up, for children who cannot read yet. Tidy the otter helps them hear letters, trace them with a finger and spell picture words; every word they learn grows a flower in their Garden. New no-reading rounds ask them to find the picture Tidy names or to match rhymes, and a one-time "Who's playing?" choice points each device at the right game for ages 3 to 6, 7 to 12, 13 to 17, or 18 and up. There is no chat, no timer and no way to fail. Wordtide is made by the Wordtide team, uses the public-domain ENABLE word list, and keeps its pledge: free to play, no pay-to-win, and no ads, purchases or tracking in kids' modes.

Features
- 42 interface languages, 39 game languages. Japanese, Arabic (right to left), Hindi, Korean, Chinese and more. The board plays in 36 languages, each world with its own dictionary.
- Lanterns, fair hints. A free nudge on every move that never gives the word, and a few free reveals a day. Pure mode has none.
- Treasure cells. Three hidden pearl cells in each region every hour; the first tile on one claims it for the whole world.
- Tide combo. Moves made within 60 seconds of each other build a chain worth up to 1.5x XP. XP only, never score.
- Smart daily quests. Targets adapt to how you play, and each quest says why it was picked.
- Who's playing? One question the first time, for ages 3 to 6, 7 to 12, 13 to 17, or 18 and up. It sets up Little Tide, Easy mode with read-aloud, or the full game.
- Little Tide, no reading needed. New rounds: find the picture Tidy names, and rhyme pairs, plus sea and feelings picture packs.
- A lighter screen. A collapsible side panel, extras that unlock as you level, and a tooltip on every control.
- World Dictionary and lighthouses. Players find every word together; the first to play a word lights a lighthouse on the board.
- High Tide Sunday. A weekly hour of double XP and a shared world goal for everyone online.
- Tide Week. Four Tides compete for territory; the result, with a podium and MVPs, arrives every week.
- Weekly events and leagues. Themed weeks and friendly leagues of 30 players.

- Little Tide tracing and Garden. Trace letters with a finger, spell picture words and grow a flower for each word.
- Celebrations. Confetti, stars and cheers for good moves and big finds.
