Free online word game
A free multiplayer word game you can play right now
Wordtide is a word game where everyone plays on the same endless board at the same time. There is no lobby to wait in and no match to queue for: open it in your browser and your first word goes down on the shared board.
One shared board, not a lobby
Every word anyone plays stays on the board, and the next player builds on it. You see other players' words appear live, and your own become part of the map that people you will never meet play next to.
How a turn works
You hold a rack of seven letter tiles. Place a word that hooks onto tiles already on the board; letter values and bonus squares decide the score. Every move is checked on the server against an open dictionary, so the board stays fair for everyone.
Play together, compete if you like
Join a Tide (a team) to claim territory with other players, climb a weekly league of 30 players, and light a lighthouse in the World Dictionary when you are the first to find a word. You can also ignore all of it and just play words.
Quiet hours are still fun
When only a few people are online, friendly AI Explorers add words to the board. They are clearly labelled "(AI)", never appear in rankings and never take treasure, so a quiet board is never an empty one.
Free, in 36 languages
There is no paid tier and nothing to buy to win. Wordtide runs on phones, tablets and computers, and the board plays in 36 languages, each with its own dictionary and letter values.
